5 Things You Need to Learn In Hypnosis Training

5 Things You Need to Learn In Hypnosis Training

There are five basic skills you need to learn in any hypnotist training course.

You need to learn stage hypnotism, hypnosis treatment programs, hypnotic age regression, how to stay out of legal trouble and additional “after the training help.”

Stage Hypnotism

Most professional hypnotists do not perform stage hypnotism. Perhaps it is because they want to separate hypnosis for entertainment and hypnosis for therapy. It is a grave mistake not to learn stage hypnotism. The main reason is for marketing purposes. As a performing hypnotist you will gain more individual clients as a result of performing on stage than with any type of print advertising. You also get paid handsomely for your stage performances in addition to obtaining life long clients and publicity.

Hypnosis Treatment Programs

Learning what to say to your clients in addition to giving them a formal hypnotic induction is extremely important for the hypnotist in training. The induction does not solve the problem; the treatment program does solve the problem and help your clients achieve their goals. Make sure your training program teaches you “how to achieve results for any problem,” and how to diagnose and successfully treat your clients in a single session. (Most clients want results with only one session and will only pay you for a single session)

Hypnotic Age Regression

You will obtain many clients who want to explore “past lives” or will want to be taken back in time during their current lifetime to examine significant events. You want to learn how to take people back in time. You do not need a special skill as a hypnotist in order to do so. Make sure your training includes detailed work on taking your clients back in time.

How to Stay Out of Legal Trouble

Can you get into legal trouble using hypnosis? Yes you can. Make sure you study a course that teaches you how to stay out of jail. There are things you can say or do as a hypnotist that can land you in a world of trouble.

After the Training Help and Tutoring

I have studied with a variety of programs and none have had “after the training help.” In other words if I had questions when I was implementing my hypnosis programs to the public, I had nobody I could call or email for additional help. Make sure the program you purchase does have additional free assistance after your course.

Summary

If you are thinking about becoming a professional hypnotist, make sure you chose a course that teaches you, stage hypnotism, hypnosis treatment programs, hypnotic age regression, how to stay out of legal trouble, and most importantly, gives you free after the training help. Hypnosis is easy to learn when you pick the correct training.

If you take my inexpensive hypnosis audio training course you receive after the training help in the form of email questions and answers. Your questions will be answered within 24-48 hours. Click here to learn hypnosis by ear! Learn more about my live one-on-one training in Phoenix, Arizona, or in a major city near where you live. You receive additional after the training help, via email and via telephone, to insure your hypnosis success.

Dan Cervantes Class of 65. Danny was in the US Army

Dianna Larsen Class of 65 Dianna was in the Air Force stationed in Alaska

Here are some more names.

All of these Dundee Students made the ultimate sacrifice.

Memorial Day Honor to Graduates of Dundee High School

Memorial Day Honor to Graduates of Dundee High School

Another Memorial Day is here and I would like to honor some of the Dundee High School Veterans I am aware that have either gone to that big Study Hall in the sky or may still be around so we can honor them while they can still benefit from free food.

Tom Hagen: Class of 65.Tom is still alive. He was an airborne guy in Viet Nam. He got wounded in combat but lives on as a legend in the Computer Training Industry. He owned a great computer training school called Mind Works for several years.

Ron Egan: Class of 65. Egan is alive and well living in the Dundee area. He is a decorated war hero in Viet Nam and was wounded pretty bad while there. He does a lot of great work for the VFW in East Dundee.

Scott Alloway Class of 65.Scott contacted me just about a year ago. He spent 4 years as an AP in the US Air Force, stationed in Tripoli when we still had bases over there. He lives right on some lake in Upper Peninsula Michigan.

Ed Powers: I almost joined the Navy with Ed but punked out at the last minute. Ed spent 3 years in the US Navy and did two tours in Nam. I waited until I was drafted in the Army. I think he still lives around Elgin or South Elgin

Russell Scott Jenkins: Class of 65. Russ was a great friend and an Eagle Scout. He was the last American man actually Drafted by the US Marines. Yes the Marines had a small Draft during Viet Nam and Russ ended up there. He was a helicopter mechanic stationed over in Viet Nam.

Glenn Haseman: Class of 65: Glenn, Paul Mills and myself were all drafted on August 22,1966 and spent Basic Training in the same unit at Fort Campbell, KY.

Jim Hawkins: Class of 65: Jim spent time in Korea and Germany, I believe. I was his 3rd assistant usher at his Wedding with Jane Schumacher, from the class of 66. I believe Jim lives in Florida.

Paul Mills: Class of 65. The last time I saw Paul was at graduation from Basic Training. I hope he is still around.

Gary Shaver: Class of 64. I believe he was wounded in the big fire on the Aircraft Carrier, Forrestal. He spend time on a local police force and as s detective and I understand he died not too long ago.

Ralph Bodenner: Class of 65 Ralph was known as an inventor. I believe it was Ralph who invented those sports goggles you wear with prescription lenses. In any event, during the years Ralph ran cross country at Dundee High School, who could forget the speed and endurance of Ralph Bodenner. On top of being the Worlds Fastest Long Distance Endurance Runner at the time, Ralph was a superb student, and genuine nice guy and I think he won some Good Citizenship Award as he was appreciated by students, teachers and administrators. I heard he was a life long military man and I believe that because he was such a good citizen.

John Olsen: Class of 64

Even though John was not a veteran, during the Summer of Love 1969, he supported all the Veterans coming home at a time when it was fashionable to demean Viet Nam Veterans. If it wasn’t for the fact that John had cancer as a teenager he would have been in the thick of the Viet Nam conflict. He died on July 1, 1975.

Jacob “Butch Lisching: Almost Class of 65. He dropped out of school early and joined the Marines. Butch did two tours in Viet Nam but died an untimely death around 1969, shortly after getting married, in a freak, car accident. In grade school at Eastview School in Algonquin, Butch used to like to sing the Marines Hymn. A few strains from the last verse were his favorite, "If the Army and the Navy, ever look on Heaven's Scenes." "They will find the streets are guarded, by United States Marines."

Paul (Wahoo) Shepanek: Class of 64: Still with the living in spite of many tours to Viet Nam as a Green Beret and working in Iraq as a contractor for the last three years. He like Russ Jenkins were also Eagle Scouts from Lake-In-The-Hills

Larry Shoop: Class of 65. Did his duty with the United States Marines. Died shortly after coming back from overseas from a home accident.

Ron Wolter: Class of 65: Ron was a helicopter pilot in Viet Nam at a time when helicopter pilots had a very short life expectancy. There is a picture of Ron in the Class of 65 photos, running hurdles as a junior for Dundee High School.

Joe Chuffo Class of 66: Still alive living in LITH, Joe was stationed in Thailand in the Army and spent many years with the Dundee post office. He still works with youth groups and even teaches a physical fitness course for senior citizens.

Bob Bohaty: Class of 66 Did his duty with the military in Viet Nam. He is still alive, still married to his college sweetheart and works for the Federal Reserve System. He is in charge of giving out free samples of money. (Don’t you wish)

I know I probably forgot many people who deserve to be remembered. Let’s remember and appreciate those who put up with us in spite of ourselves during those trying times as students of Dundee High School.

Forgive Your Foes and Achieve Your Goals

Forgive Your Foes and Achieve Your Goals

You need to forgive your foes in order to proceed in achieving all of your goals.

Write down the names of people you feel are holding you back from success. Then read over each name and then focus on each person on the list.

As you focus on a specific name, silently forgive them for holding you back from success. Talking delight in the failure of others is a human trait we do not like to own up to. It runs counter to all religious and social beliefs. It is impossible to understand however it is real and it is potent.

When we silently wish success on our foes, we will actually end up wishing success for ourselves. We will begin giving life to our hopes and aspirations.

Take each name on your list. Read the name to yourself or aloud and say the following as you take this step: “I wish for ________the same success and achievement I want for myself.” “I forgive _________for trying to hold me back from achieving my goal.” “I understand that this holding back is just a human trait that we all are working hard to overcome.”

Each day before you work on your goals, set aside some time to focus and verbalize your forgiveness for your foes. You will find this very effective in overcoming people who are holding you back from the success you rightfully deserve.

The Perfect Career for Baby Boomers Part 1

Hypnotist: “The Perfect Career” for Baby Boomers Part 1.

This article is dedicated to Francis J. Perkins Senior, who died two weeks after his retirement from 30 years of work.

Do you have enough money to fund your retirement? This is a question that plagues Baby Boomers.

Most people in that Baby Boomer Generation feel that they will have to work to maintain the same standard of living that they had prior to retirement. (Or Forced Retirement which is becoming more and more commonplace)

After spending a lifetime building careers, most “Baby Boomers” are surprised to find themselves being pushed out of their jobs.

Many feel that after being pushed out, the only job they will qualify for is “Greeter” at the local Wal-Mart.

Some have retired early only to find funds running out at an unbelievable rate of speed.

This is very sad.

Fortunately there is one career path that can not only solve the “I Feel Worthless Blues” suffered by many 50 and 60 something people, but you can earn money commensurate with the life obstacles you braved during your thirty something years of working for a living.

There are two career paths as a professional hypnotist. You can become a stage hypnotist and present exciting shows to high schools, universities, and corporations, or you can become a clinical hypnotist or hypnosis consultant and work with people either one-on-one or in groups to achieve positives goals.

---

Hypnosis as a Career

I can think of no other career that can be started so quickly. Can you?

Many people think that as a hypnotist or hypnotherapist you have to have the gift of gab. That is not true. In fact you need to have the gift of silence as you learn how to help your clients by listening and not speaking.

There are no set words you say to help people change. The best way to find the words is by listening to your clients and then using their words to affect permanent change.

Your clients seem to magically heal themselves after they reveal not only what is wrong with them, but the exact plan they will need to follow in order to be successful.

Are you able to ask a few questions, listen to the responses, and then create a plan for achievement of your client’s goals? If you have had a career in professional sales, you will recognize this as assessing your client’s needs. This is why many professional sales people do find success and happiness in a career as a professional hypnotist.

Do I have to be Psychic or Burn Candles to be A Hypnotist?

No. In fact I have virtually no psychic ability. I do have the ability however, to ask the right kinds of questions. This is one ingredient you will need to develop to be successful as a hypnotist.

You do not need to burn any candles to be a hypnotist. I tried candles only once and practically burned down my house. Hypnosis involves relaxed concentration, not a candle burning ceremony.

Can I Really Help People Achieve Their Goals With Hypnosis?

Yes you can. The fact you made it through the 60’s means that you have learned many of life’s lessons. You learn how to fail and how to succeed in life. Most of your clients will be younger than you. The lessons you learned can help raise your clients to a new level of awareness. You can turn your life experiences and life lessons into gold as a professional hypnotist.

What about Professional Certification?

Professional Certification for Hypnotists is nothing like Certification is for Public School Teachers, Dentists, Medical Doctors or Accountants.

Since there are no Regionally Accredited Colleges and Universities offering Hypnosis at a Bachelor’s, Masters, or PhD level, there will NEVER be any kind of Professional Certification that means anything.

There are No professional degree programs or even professional certification programs that are offered by Regionally Accredited Schools.

When you get certified by any Hypnosis Schools, these schools are just private companies, usually very small with one or two owners. They usually do a good job in teaching hypnosis, however, when they talk about “Certification” especially Hypnotherapy Certification, they are not representing your training to compare in any degree with the Certification you need to become a professional public school teacher , dentist or doctor.

I offer a Certificate of Completion for work done in my courses, but it is never to be considered Hypnotherapy Certification. It just means you completed the course.

If Hypnotherapy Certification really ever existed in the United States it would mean the person taking the Hypnotherapy Certification Program would have to have at least 150 College Credit Hours of Instruction.

For those of you who have been out of college for a while, that means you would have to have a 4 year Bachelors’ Degree in Hypnotherapy followed by at least a Masters Degree in Hypnotherapy. That is 5 full time years at college before you can really call yourself a “Hypnotherapist.” You would be taking 60 hours of general credit courses like English, College Math, Science, and all of those fun courses you loved so much back in the 60’s.

You would have to go to the University of Notre Dame, or University of California, or some other Regionally Accredited College if there was true Certification. Check out college catalogs in your region and you will find no programs for Hypnotherapists.

Remember Political Science Majors, back in the 60s. Many of those guys and gals went on to become 401K fund managers for major fund providers. They do not show up for protest marches anymore, and do not have to worry about the Draft.

Yes, even a retired 401K Fund Manager can become a professional hypnotist. They can help people see opportunities for prosperity that most of us miss. They can dip back into the 60s when they felt they could change the world. As a professional hypnotist, you get to change the world, one life at a time.

Do I Need an Advanced College Degree to be A Hypnotherapist?

Yes. In most states in the United Stages you can only call yourself a Hypnotherapist if you have a Masters or PhD in Psychology from a Regionally Accredited University, a Psychiatrist, who has an MD, or a Doctor with a Medical Degree.

However, you can call yourself a Professional Hypnotist, a Clinical Hypnotist, a Super Man Hypnotist, King, or anything you wish, even if your training only included reading a book about hypnosis.

It’s the word “therapy” in the word “Hypnotherapy” that implies you have much more education and training than you really have.

So now that the barrier of professional college programs has been broken down, and the huge investment of time and money, what is holding you back from becoming a professional hypnotist, today?

You do not have to invest four or five years of your life and $100,000 to begin your new career as a professional hypnotist.

The best part is you get to help people see their lives a little differently. You get to work within your client’s truth and help him/her overcome a serious problem. You get the thrill of helping and sometimes even saving another life.

There are very few occupations where you can help so many people realize their potential and defeat so many problems

How Much Time Do I Need to Devote to A Hypnotism Career?

You can work part-time or you can work fulltime. You can take any days or nights off without asking for permission. You control your schedule and your income.

Whether you decide to become a clinical hypnotist or a stage hypnotist, there is one part of the job that will take up most of your time.

That job is marketing “You.” You know already that whether you purchase a franchise business, open a restaurant, or become a professional consultant, you will need to take time to market and promote yourself.

Even if you get an agent, as in the case of a stage hypnotist or you get a job working for another popular clinical hypnotist, you will find that you are marketing all of the time.

After 30 years in this business, I still market myself. I work just as hard on it now as I did 30 years ago.

Begin to look at marketing yourself differently. Begin to like it.

After all, most of your business clients suffer from the same lack of self-esteem and self-image. You cannot help them unless you can help yourself. If you can make money by marketing yourself, you can help any business increase sales with your hypnosis prescriptions.

I work smarter now however, because I found what works best for me and my personal schedule.

In my courses, I hold your hand as we develop a marketing and promotion plan that will work best for you.

Part 5

I Live in a Small Town, How Do I Find Clients for Clinical Hypnosis?

So do I. I live in Ash Fork, Arizona, with a population around 500. Most of the people here earn less than $20,000 a year. Many people live on small farms and ranches and work very hard to eke out a living. None are my clients as they cannot afford health care or any extra services.

Most of my hypnosis treatment sessions even when I lived in Phoenix and in Northern Illinois are delivered by telephone.

I found back in 1978 when a client called me from New Jersey, and in a hurry for some answers, that I could actually conduct a hypnosis treatment session over the phone.

Over the years, even though I had a fixed office, I found that I could earn more money and not have to be worried about the demographics of my physical location.

Since 1978 I have hypnotized scores of people not only located in the United States, but also, England, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India, Canada, Austria, Germany and Korea.

I hypnotized all of these clients while relaxing at my telephone.

By conducting your services by phone, you have no travel costs, no travel time, and you can charge any fee you want to charge.

People will pay when they are confident you can help them and they have the ability to pay your fee.

By hypnotizing over the phone, you can capitalize on the greatest tool for hypnotizing people ever invented…the telephone.

Add hypnosis treatment programs by telephone and watch your private practice grow!

Developing Self-confidence

What is the first thing you need in order to hypnotize other People?

The very first thing you to achieve is self-confidence. You need to believe in yourself that you can hypnotize other people.

You may ask, how do I get self-confidence in hypnotizing other people, if I have never hypnotized anyone before?

That is a good question.

Once you understand what hypnosis really is, you may be best able to improve your self-confidence.

Hypnosis is simply a state of mind…or a mood. Did you ever make another person angry? Did you ever make another person sad? Did you every make someone experience joy or happiness?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then you have hypnotized other people.

Maybe they didn’t bark like dogs, or quit smoking, but you did induce a mental mood, or help change that person’s state of mind.

So my tip to you today is one hour before hypnotizing your first subject or group, I want you to think about a time when you remember making someone laugh or someone cry, by your remarks. Try to focus on a positive event so put all of your thoughts and energy into remembering a time when you said something that made a person laugh and feel good. Remember what you said and how you said it. Remember the feeling of joy and accomplishment after receiving such a wonderful reaction by the other person.

Before every hypnosis session or stage show, remember a time when you made a difference in someone’s life, even if it was just for a moment or two.

The most important ingredient in developing skills as a hypnotist or clinical hypnotherapist is self-confidence. The more you reflect on your positive accomplishments with other people, the quicker you will develop a powerful self-confidence.

Overcoming the Fear of Rejection

I like to improve the odds of successfully treating clients using hypnosis. One of the best ways of insuring your success as a hypnotist is to probe your client before hypnotizing him or her.

In probing your client you are looking to find the fears that will hold your client back from successfully completing your hypnosis treatment program.

One of the major fears you need to help your client overcome is the “fear of rejection.”

Fear of rejection comes into play especially in the areas of smoking cessation, controlling weight, or preparing for plastic surgery.

I met a guy we will call Charles, who was trying to give up smoking. He went to a one day stop smoking clinic presented by one of my hypnotist students. At the end of the day, Charles destroyed a pack of cigarettes and swore he would never touch those cigarettes again.

Charles went to his favorite night club, where smoking is allowed, and began talking about his hypnosis experience with a couple of his friends. As friend number one was expounding on hypnosis being the “work of the Devil,” friend number two was placing packs of cigarettes in front of Charles. Friend number two went to a convenience store during this discussion and quickly returned with a full carton of cigarettes. He laid the carton in front of Charles at the night club table.

Within a short time, Charles was smoking more than ever. His fear of losing his non-supportive friends was superior to his wish to give up smoking.

I asked Charles why he picked up the cigarettes and he simply said, “I felt rejected by my decision to quit smoking.” “The guys didn’t think it was okay.” “They kept putting me down for it and made fun of me.” “I just had to go back to get things back to normal.”

The fear of rejection, can wreak havoc on a hypnosis treatment program. As a hypnotist, make sure you ask your clients in their very first visits, “How will your friends feel about your success?” “When you are successful using this treatment, are you ready to change your life, forever?

If you receive answers during your first sessions that your clients are not ready to their lives forever, then recommend they come back when they are ready to change. The must be committed to change in order for your hypnosis treatment program to work.

Summary

Hypnosis can work miracles, however, only when your clients are ready to overcome their fear of rejection. I wish you success in helping all your clients overcome their fears of rejection.

Happy Birthday John P Olsen!

Free Cancer Help from John P. Olsen

Today is John P. Olsen's birthday. He was born on May 10, 1944.

John P. Olsen was a fantastic friend. He was always building people up and supporting their plans for the future. In July of 1975 he died of cancer in Louisville, Kentucky.

One message I know he wants to give to all cancer victims is, “You are much more powerful than you think you are.”

“Think of positive thoughts as you fight this disease.” “Bring fun and joy into your life.””Observe new growth in the people surrounding you.”

“People will say things to you that they think you want to hear right now.” “Or they will unconsciously say things that they shouldn’t say because they are trying not to say those things.” “Laugh at them out loud; it will relieve a lot of tension for both of you.”

“It is their way of saying that they love you.”

You can download my free cancer hypnosis audio recording that will help you find peace by clicking here or going to the Hypnotism Education Website.

Happy Birthday John and thank you for everything.

I wish the best for you and your family.

How to Overcome the Fear of Embarassment

How to Overcome the Fear of Embarrassment

You want to be successful as a professional hypnotist or hypnotherapist. You have a client named Frank, who comes to you because he never seems to earn enough money.

Even though Frank is college educated, the only jobs he gets hired for are barely over minimum wage. Frank is 35 years old, and has never earned the “big money,” promised by earning a college degree.

This is a common scenario with male clients, over the age of thirty, moving all the way up to retirement age.

I probed Frank, asking why he thinks he never secured the “big career.” I asked him, “What is holding you back from the big money,” and I asked him, “Who is holding you back from earning the big money.”

I was surprised to find that he named three people. I will call them, Tom, Dick and Harry.”

Every morning Frank, Tom, Dick and Harry meet for breakfast at a coffee shop located on the way to work.

Tom, Dick and Harry all work for either retail stores or telephone call centers, earning just a little over minimum wage. Tom, Dick and Harry are Frank’s age and none have a college degree.

I asked Frank, “What would Tom, Dick and Harry say if at breakfast, you told them, “I just got a job that will pay more than double my current earnings.”

Frank thought about it a few minutes then exclaimed, “I would be too embarrassed to tell them.”

I asked Frank why he would be embarrassed, and he said, “I don’t know.”

This is a very common to find in the business world. You find friends who are like you. They have the same politics, many times the same religious beliefs, and the same attitudes. You feel comfortable with them. There is nothing wrong with hanging out with like minds except when it comes to earning money.

To paraphrase Mark Victor Hansen, the “Chicken Soup of the Soul, Co-Creator, “Tell me how much money each of eight of your closest friend’s earn and I can tell you how much you earn.”

Peer pressure to retain the status quo in an adult relationship is every much as powerful as the peer pressure associated with teenage drug use.

How can a hypnotist help?

Once you have ascertained that your client is affected by the fear of embarrassment, you need to confront that fear with a positive induction that focuses on visualization exercises focusing on the way Tom, Dick and Harry will perceive Frank in his new higher paying position.

Make the visualization vivid with all the sights, sounds, smells and feelings of the breakfast café.

You will find that in just a few sessions, Frank will overcome his fear of embarrassment and embark on a program to find better paying jobs.

Summary:

Always be on the lookout for the “Fear of Embarrassment.” This is a real fear that holds many of us back from success. Mastering techniques on overcoming the fear will help you as a hypnotist or hypnotherapist help many people that normally would go back to their old habits once your sessions are finished.
