Linda Elaine Perkins Died
My big sister, Linda, died on September 5,2010 in New Port Richey Florida.
I remember Linda as a devoted student of learning, a true patriot who was very active in politics, and a devout Catholic.
Linda graduated from Dundee Community High School, Carpentersville, Illinois, in 1962 at the young age of 16. Even though she was so young she made the "Super Honor Roll" every quarter during Junior High and High School and finished third in her 1962 graduating class.
Linda was the President of the Illinois Young Republicans when Barry Goldwater ran for President. She wrote many political articles for newspapers and magazines at that time.
She kept up with politics and performed all of her civic duties. Later in life she was a civilian officer at a military base near Jacksonville, Florida.
Linda was a devoted Mother, raising 2 children and holding down a career her entire life.
I will miss Linda and she will always serve as an inspiration for me. She taught me how to write and speak in public. I will always be in her debt.
Rest in Peace Linda, and thank you big sister.
