Hypnotist: The Perfect Career for Baby Boomers Part 8

How do I Cost Justify Entering the Field of Hypnosis?

How do you cost justify entering the career field of hypnosis?

Back in 1968 I decided to become a high school business teacher. I had no idea what high school teachers earned. All I knew was, many teachers talked about going on vacations over the summer.

I figured that they must earn a great deal of money because of these trips and the fact they had more than a two week vacation like most of the working stiffs like me, located in the United States.

I never asked the question, how much do public school teachers earn.

Reality Set In

Just before I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1972, I started sending resumes to public school districts located all over the United States.

When I sent out my resumes, I began to find out what teachers earned. Usually a copy of the teachers’ pay scale for that district was sent by the high schools I applied to. Yes, it was more money than I earned working part-time putting myself through college, but it sure was not what I had envisioned.

I began teaching high school at Elgin High School in Elgin, Illinois. My beginning salary for teaching was $8450.00 per year. (This was 1972)

I taught three years actually averaging about $9400.00 per year for each year as I taught summer school in order to make ends meet.

I earned a total of $28200 for three years work.

I spent more than $30,000 back in 1972, going to school for four years, purchasing books, tuition and living costs.

If I did not go to college I would have been working in a factory and averaging around $9000.00 a year, not counting any overtime I would have an opportunity to earn.

I gave up $36,000 in income for the four years I was in college only to earn only $28,200 for the next three years working as a teacher.

My quiz to you is: How long would I have to work in order to earn more money in the teaching field than I would have earned as a factory worker?

If your answer is, Wayne, you would not have a factory job after 1975 because all of the industry in Northern Illinois packed up and moved overseas. You would end up working at Wal-Mart earning minimum wage.

Yes, you would be a smartass if you said that and you would also be correct.

The sad part in this story is, back in 1968 when I decided to become a teacher, all I had to do is call each school district and ask for a copy of their pay scale. This is public record in every state in the United States. It would have been that easy to find out if this was a career for a single man who only had one paycheck coming in, or if I would have to explore other opportunities.

Before entering any career, find out what you will earn. If you will not earn enough to survive, then forget it. Stick to what you are doing now.

How much does it cost to become a professional hypnotist?

If you work with me the cost of becoming either a professional stage hypnotist or a clinical hypnotist is $5000.00. The amount of time you will be investing in learning hypnosis, in order figure your return on your $5000.00 investment is only 2 days

With proper marketing you can earn $5000.00 in about one week or less presenting stage shows, or in about a month or two if you work with individual clients.

You can receive more information about my exclusive two day intensive one-on-one training programs by clicking here.

Before you invest your money, read about the downside of a career in hypnosis?

What is the downside to becoming a hypnotist?

Whether you become a professional stage hypnotist or a clinical hypnotist you will need to learn how to market yourself. In the United States there are no “jobs” for hypnotists. There are no employers who “hire” hypnotists.

You need to learn how to market yourself to your clients. Even when you are a stage hypnotist any one agent won’t give you enough business to sustain you. I know one stage hypnotist who uses over 20 different agents and he still has to market himself.

I have never used an agent and I have been hypnotizing audiences for almost thirty years.

Once you learn the techniques how to market yourself as a professional stage hypnotist or as a clinical hypnotherapist, you will be in business for life!

Do you teach the techniques of marketing hypnosis in your two day intensive one-on-one training?

Yes, I train you how to get entertaining stage shows, speaking engagements and individual clients. I also train you on how to deliver hypnosis sessions over the telephone.

You will be able to begin booking clients or stage shows immediately upon finishing the one-on-one training.

Hypnosis is a life time career. You can cost justify your training in just about a week if you decide be a stage hypnotist, or just a few months if you become a clinical hypnotist.

Hypnotist: The Perfect Career for Baby Boomers Part 7

If I am an old fart, will anyone listen to me?

I have found something very interesting with American business. If you are an old fart or fartess, and you have a regular job, your boss and co-workers usually hate your guts. At least behind your back they hate your guts.

When your boss is 20 years or so younger than you, they feel you don’t have the energy to do the job.

I spent a couple of years as an executive recruiter and any executive over the age of 40 was deemed useless. When I forced an interview with a 40 something candidate, I usually heard, “he doesn’t have any energy.” Yet I personally know of 40 something independent consultants that work 7 days a week, every week of the year.

(These are all examples of people living and working in the United States)

By the same token, independent professional consultants and health care consultants who are in their 50s are considered knowledgeable and wise! The older you are as a professional hypnotist, the wiser and more competent you are.

These consultants are evaluated by the same people in businesses who consider old farts and fartesses, obsolete! They will pay almost anything for advice from these old timers.

When you are hypnotizing a client who is much younger, they assume you have many years experience in hypnosis and they give you the confidence and respect you earned from your years on the planet. Your clients will feel more confident in you because they only know you as a professional hypnotist.

Your age is your ally in becoming a successful professional hypnotist. Two of my hypnosis mentors, Ormond McGill and Dr. Milton Erickson, worked up until they died.
Ormond recently died at 92 years of age and Milton at 83. So much for social security and medicare.

If you want to live long and prosper, become a professional hypnotist.

I Live in a Small Town, Where Do I Find Clients for Clinical Hypnosis?

You live in a small town? You live in a rural community that does not support hypnosis?

So do I. I live in Ash Fork, Arizona, with a population around 500. Most of the people here earn less than $20,000 a year. Many people live on small farms and ranches and work very hard to eke out a living. About one-half of the population is retired. None of the residents are my clients as they cannot afford health care or any extra services.

Most of my hypnosis treatment sessions even when I lived in Phoenix and in Northern Illinois were delivered by telephone.

I found back in 1978 when a client called me from New Jersey, and in a hurry for some answers, that I could actually conduct a hypnosis treatment session over the phone. I was surprised how easy it was to conduct.

Over the years, even though I had a fixed office, I found that I could earn more money and not have to be worried about the demographics of my physical location.

Since 1978 I have hypnotized scores of people not only located in the United States, but also, England, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India, Canada, Austria, Germany and Korea.

I hypnotized all of these clients while relaxing at my telephone.

By conducting your services by phone, you have no travel costs, no travel time, and you can charge any fee you want to charge.

People will pay when they are confident you can help them and they have the ability to pay your fee.

By hypnotizing over the phone, you can capitalize on the greatest tool for hypnotizing people ever invented…the telephone.

Add hypnosis treatment programs by telephone and watch your private practice grow!

How Much Time Do I Need to Devote to A Hypnotism Career?

You can work part-time or you can work fulltime. You can take any days or nights off without asking for permission. You control your schedule and your income.

Whether you decide to become a clinical hypnotist or a stage hypnotist, there is one part of the job that will take up most of your time.

That job is marketing “You.” You know already that whether you purchase a franchise business, open a restaurant, or become a professional consultant, you will need to take time to market and promote yourself.

Even if you get an agent, as in the case of a stage hypnotist or you get a job working for another popular clinical hypnotist, you will find that you are marketing all of the time.

After 30 years in this business, I still market myself. I work just as hard on it now as I did 30 years ago.

Begin to look at marketing yourself differently. Begin to like it.

After all, most of your business clients suffer from the same lack of self-esteem and self-image. You cannot help them unless you can help yourself. If you can make money by marketing yourself, you can help any business increase sales with your hypnosis prescriptions.

I work smarter now however, because I found what works best for me and my personal schedule.

In my courses, I hold your hand as we develop a marketing and promotion plan that will work best for you.

What about Professional Certification?

Professional Certification for Hypnotists is nothing like Certification is for Public School Teachers, Dentists, Medical Doctors or Accountants.

Since there are no Regionally Accredited Colleges and Universities offering Hypnosis at a Bachelor’s, Masters, or PhD level, there will NEVER be any kind of Professional Certification that means anything.

There are No professional degree programs or even professional certification programs that are offered by Regionally Accredited Schools.

When you get certified by any Hypnosis Schools, these schools are just private companies, usually very small with one or two owners. They usually do a good job in teaching hypnosis, however, when they talk about “Certification” especially Hypnotherapy Certification, they are not representing your training to compare in any degree with the Certification you need to become a professional public school teacher , dentist or doctor.

I offer a Certificate of Completion for work done in my courses, but it is never to be considered Hypnotherapy Certification. It just means you completed the course.

If Hypnotherapy Certification really ever existed in the United States it would mean the person taking the Hypnotherapy Certification Program would have to have at least 150 College Credit Hours of Instruction.

For those of you who have been out of college for a while, that means you would have to have a 4 year Bachelors’ Degree in Hypnotherapy followed by at least a Masters Degree in Hypnotherapy. That is 5 full time years at college before you can really call yourself a “Hypnotherapist.” You would be taking 60 hours of general credit courses like English, College Math, Science, and all of those fun courses you loved so much back in the 60’s.

You would have to go to the University of Notre Dame, or University of California, or some other Regionally Accredited College if there was true Certification. Check out college catalogs in your region and you will find no programs for Hypnotherapists.

Remember Political Science Majors, back in the 60s. Many of those guys and gals went on to become 401K fund managers for major fund providers. They do not show up for protest marches anymore, and do not have to worry about the Draft.

Yes, even a retired 401K Fund Manager can become a professional hypnotist. They can help people see opportunities for prosperity that most of us miss. They can dip back into the 60s when they felt they could change the world. As a professional hypnotist, you get to change the world, one life at a time.

Do I Need an Advanced College Degree to be Called A Hypnotherapist?

Yes. In most states in the United Stages you can only call yourself a Hypnotherapist if you have a Masters or PhD in Psychology from a Regionally Accredited University, a Psychiatrist, who has an MD, or a Doctor with a Medical Degree.

However, you can call yourself a Professional Hypnotist, a Clinical Hypnotist, a Super Man Hypnotist, King, or anything you wish, even if your training only included reading a book about hypnosis.

It’s the word “therapy” in the word “Hypnotherapy” that implies you have much more education and training than you really have.

So now that the barrier of professional college programs has been broken down, and the huge investment of time and money, what is holding you back from becoming a professional hypnotist, today?

You do not have to invest four or five years of your life and $100,000 to begin your new career as a professional hypnotist.

The best part is you get to help people see their lives a little differently. You get to work within your client’s truth and help him/her overcome a serious problem. You get the thrill of helping and sometimes even saving another life.

There are very few occupations where you can help so many people realize their potential and defeat so many problems.

Hypnosis as a Career

I can think of no other career that can be started so quickly. Can you?

On Monday you are not a hypnotist and Thursday of the same week, you are a hypnotist, collecting fees and helping people. Sometimes you are helping people located all over the World!

Many people think that as a hypnotist or hypnotherapist you have to have the gift of gab. That is not true. In fact you need to have the gift of silence as you learn how to help your clients by listening and not speaking.

There are no set words you say to help people change. The best way to find the words is by listening to your clients and then using their words to affect permanent change.

Your clients seem to magically heal themselves after they reveal not only what is wrong with them, but the exact plan they will need to follow in order to be successful.

Are you able to ask a few questions, listen to the responses, and then create a plan for achievement of your client’s goals? If you have had a career in professional sales, you will recognize this as assessing your client’s needs. This is why many professional sales people do find success and happiness in a career as a professional hypnotist.

Your clients seem to magically heal themselves after they reveal not only what is wrong with them, but the exact plan they will need to follow in order to be successful.

Do I have to be Psychic or Burn Candles to be A Hypnotist?

No. In fact I have virtually no psychic ability. I do have the ability however, to ask the right kinds of questions. This is one ingredient you will need to develop to be successful as a hypnotist.

You do not need to burn any candles to be a hypnotist. I tried candles only once and practically burned down my house. Hypnosis involves relaxed concentration, not a candle burning ceremony.

Can I Really Help People Achieve Their Goals With Hypnosis?

Yes you can. The fact you made it through the 60’s means that you have learned many of life’s lessons. You learn how to fail and how to succeed in life. Most of your clients will be younger than you. The lessons you learned can help raise your clients to a new level of awareness. You can turn your life experiences and life lessons into gold as a professional hypnotist.

Why is Hypnotist a great career for Baby Boomers?

Because, as a Boomer, you already have the life experiences and savy to work with people of all ages who need help. You affect change in their lives and earn a good living at the same time.

Hypnotist: The Perfect Career for Baby Boomers Part 1

Hypnotist: “The Perfect Career” for Baby Boomers Part 1.
This article is dedicated to Francis J. Perkins Senior, who died two weeks after his retirement from 30 years of work.

Do you have enough money to fund your retirement? This is a question that plagues Baby Boomers all over the United States.

Most people in that Baby Boomer Generation feel that they will have to work to maintain the same standard of living that they had prior to retirement. (Or Forced Retirement which is becoming more and more commonplace)

After spending a lifetime building careers, most “Baby Boomers” are surprised to find themselves being pushed out of their jobs.

Many feel that after being pushed out, the only job they will qualify for is “Greeter” at the local Wal-Mart.

Some have retired early only to find funds running out at an unbelievable rate of speed.

This is very sad.

Fortunately there is one career path that can not only solve the “I Feel Worthless Blues” suffered by many 50 and 60 something people, but you can earn money commensurate with the life obstacles you braved during your thirty something years of working for a living.

That career is...Professional Hypnotist.

There are two career paths as a Professional Hypnotist. You can perform Professional Stage Shows, for schools, universities and corporations, or you can work on individuals and groups to help everyone overcome problems and achieve their goals.

You are sometimes called hypnotherapist, hypnotechnican, medical hypnotist, hypnosis consultant, or just plain "hypnotist."

If you are a Boomer, check into a career that will help your life feel worthwile as you help others achieve success, using the true "Magic of the Mind," Hypnosis.

Stage Hypnotism Markets within High Schools

Stage Hypnotism Markets within High Schools

One of my favorite markets is high schools. Both public and private high schools have been my cash cow markets for almost 30 years.

This article is the first in a series on How to Book High School Stage Hypnotism Performances.
First of all, where do the bookings come from within high schools?

The following are markets I have performed at throughout the United States.

School Assembly Programs

Band Booster Fund Raising Events

Entertainment for Band Performance Trips

Entertainment for School Trips

Fund Raising for Class Trips

Father/Daughter Nights

Mother/Son Nights

Post Prom Entertainment

Grad Night or Senior Night Entertainment

Parent Teacher Entertainment

Psychology Class Demonstrations

Entertainment for Standardized Test Day

As a stage hypnotist you may find many markets open up within the same high school.

I have performed three separate events at the same high school during just one school semester.

I gave an assembly program for the entire school and then I performed at a Mother/Son Night and a Father/Daughter Night held a few months later!

I performed entertainment for the Fiesta Bowl High School Bands, for ten consecutive years.

As a stage hypnotist you can achieve success specializing in high school entertainment.

There are many markets within each school so multiple gigs at each school will increase your income significantly.

Good luck,

Wayne F. Perkins

Hypnosis Deepener #5 Counting Backwards

Hypnosis Deepener #5

Counting Backwards to Deepen the Hypnotic Condition

One deepener that many Master Hypnotists employ with their clients and volunteers is the Counting Backwards Deepener.

The Counting Backwards Deepener can be applied in at least two different ways.

One way is for the hypnotist to count backwards and suggest that with each count the subject go deeper and deeper into hypnosis.

Example 1:

The hypnotist says:

“In a moment I am going to count from ten down to one.” With every count you will go deeper and deeper into this pleasant state of hypnosis.” “All right, ten, you are going down, deep, deep, into hypnosis.” “Nine, you feel more relaxed than every before.” “Eight, going down, down, down.” “Seven, you feel perfectly relaxed.” “Six, you are going further down, down, down, into deep hypnosis.” “Five, your are completely relaxed.” “Four, you are relaxing with every breath that you take.” “Three, you are going deeper and deeper asleep, Two, you are going deeper into hypnosis,” and “One, you are deep in hypnosis.”

Example 2:

The second way to deepen using counting backwards is to get your subject to do the counting. You proceed as follows:

“In a moment I want you to count backwards from 100 down to 1. With every count find yourself relaxing deeper and deeper and by the time you reach one, go deep into hypnosis.”

“Okay, begin counting out loud from 100 down to 1.”

Now your subject begins counting backward. As he/she counts and relaxes with each count a deeper feeling of hypnosis ensues

While your subject is counting backwards you can present verbal relaxing suggestions to support your subject as he/she begins to get very drowsy and relaxed.

Summary:

Use counting backwards to deepen hypnosis in all of your subjects. You will find it an effective deepening tool.

Free Cancer Help from John P. Olsen

Free Cancer Help from John P. Olsen

John P. Olsen was a fantastic friend. He was always building people up and supporting their plans for the future. In July of 1975 he died of cancer in Louisville, Kentucky.

One message I know he wants to give to all cancer victims is, “You are much more powerful than you think you are.”

“Think of positive thoughts as you fight this disease.” “Bring fun and joy into your life. Observe new growth in the people surrounding you.”

“People will say things to you that they think you want to hear right now.” “Or they will unconsciously say things that they shouldn’t say because they are trying not to say those things.” “Laugh at them out loud; it will relieve a lot of tension for both of you.”

“It is their way of saying that they love you.”

How Much Money Do Hypnotists Earn?

How Much Money Do Hypnotists Earn?

A True Story:

In 1972 I was sitting in a Thursday night Business Education 424 class taught by Dr. E. Edward Harris at Northern Illinois University, in DeKalb, Illinois.

My friend Chuck Miller was sitting next to me. Since we would both be receiving our degrees in Business Education soon, I asked Chuck if he had any idea of how much High School business education teachers earn.

Chuck said he had no idea. A few months later when Dr. Harris offered Chuck a high school teaching position at Chuck’s Alma Mater, Dundee Community High School, did Chuck find out what he was working toward the last four years of college.

During his senior year, Chuck worked weekends at a real estate company in Dundee, Illinois.

When Chuck compared his earning for the year with the potential earnings from teaching he faced a dilemma

Chuck’s earnings from his weekend job were exactly 3 times a teacher’s annual salary.
After all the work, the blood, sweat and tears of obtaining a degree and dedication toward his goal, Chuck’s dream was dashed with the reality of what real jobs pay.

Chuck decided to not go into the teaching field and built a successful real-estate business.

Many of us wonder, “How much can I earn as a hypnotist?" "I see those guys in Vegas or I see them on television." “They must earn a ton of money.”

Hypnotist’s earnings are all over the place. Since the field is so small of working stage hypnotists and even clinical hypnotherapists, I can only speak from the hypnotists who have shared that information with me over the years and my own personal income. I have been hypnotizing audiences since 1977 and have hypnotized people to overcome problems and achieve goals.

Most Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists make absolutely nothing.

This is usually because once they go to classes and come home. Once home, they do not feel like they are any different from before they left for Certification classes.

They lose their confidence and their ambition to succeed in hypnosis.

My estimate is that over 95% of trained hypnotists and hypnotherapists never go beyond hypnotizing their spouses or immediate friends.

Therefore, most hypnotists make absolutely nothing.

Now for the good news

For the small percentage of hypnosis students who decide to brave the big bad world, rewards can be fantastic.

I know hypnotists who earn less than $40,000 per year, and I know hypnotists who earn over $500,000 a year.

Most, but not all of the hypnotists earning over $500,000 a year perform on stage. They also sell books, tapes, CDs and other products that contribute to their total income.

Hypnotherapists or professional hypnotists

Hypnotherapists, (most do not have Masters Degrees from Regionally Accredited Universities) so they legally cannot call themselves a “therapist,” in many US states. Most practicing hypnotherapists today are Baby Boomers who may have been political science or business majors in college.

You can call yourself a Professional Hypnotist, however, regardless of your educational background.

Many very successful hypnotherapists have never attended a single day of college but most have a year or two.

Two of the most successful professional hypnotists in history, Dave Elman and Ormond McGill, were only high school graduates. Ormond spent 78 years in the field of hypnosis and worked up until he died at 92 years of age.

Both trained thousands of professional hypnotists, psychologists, and medical doctors the fine art of hypnotism.

Life experiences and desire to help other people are more important than college courses.

How do I Earn the Big Money as A Hypnotist?

Regardless of where you find yourself in total earnings, it will always be a function of marketing your services. You need to learn how to market in order to be successful. I have only known one professional stage hypnotist who earns more than $500,000 a year and has a single agent working for him.

I have never used an agent for booking stage shows as I want to be a part of all of the negotiations, however I do work with agents for the corporate market as the budgets are much larger than the high schools and college markets I serve.

In my Professional Hypnotist Training course, that I present on-one-one, I spend considerable time, walking you through the steps of how to market yourself as a hypnotist, how to get clients or bookings, and how to accomplish your mission with minimal marketing costs.

I show you how to begin part time. In fact, I only work part time because speaking fees are quite large, especially in the University and Corporate Markets and I am very lazy.

For more information about my exclusive one-on-one program, click here.

Summary:

Always find out how much money you can earn, before you invest in a new career. My friend Chuck spent four years studying in college, had a straight “A” average in his field, and just before graduating decided that his part-time job, offered him a better living then his desired field of study.

If you desire to enter the field of hypnosis, you need someone to take your hand and lead you through every step in developing your client base or teaching you how to book your own hypnosis shows.

You need help by phone with your mentor long after class is over.

It is hard work, but you can make your own schedule and earn many times what you will earn in traditional jobs. (And you may be able to contribute to the wellbeing of society well up into your 90’s.

“My mission in life is to help you achieve your mission in life.”

Hypnosis Deepener #4 Using the Sense of Touch to Deepen the Hypnotic Condition

You can use kinesthetic cues to deepen the hypnotic condition

Some hypnotic subjects will not be very good at visualizing or improving their auditory reception. They may not be affected that much by the sense of smell or touch. If you find subjects like these, it is best to you a kinesthetic cue. You want to use a “kinesthetic” deeper to affect the sense of touch.

In every stage show I perform, I always say the following phrase, “In a moment I am going to touch you on your shoulder, when I touch you on your shoulder, your neck and shoulder muscles will relax, sending you into a deeper state of hypnosis.”
Then I physically go around behind the volunteers onstage and demonstrate what happens when I touch each volunteer on the shoulder.

Example #2:

Another kinesthetic deepening phrase I use to affect the sense of touch is, “In a moment I am going to touch you on your forehead.” When I touch you on your forehead, your head will fall forward, sending you deeper and deeper into hypnosis.”

Summary:

Use the senses of taste, touch, smell, hearing and vision to deepen the trance condition or hypnosis experience.

If you notice in a stage show, you are always altering your subjects’ senses to the surprise of the subjects and the delight of the viewing audience.

When you are hypnotizing one on one, you do not have the luxury of the audience adding to the expectation of the show. This is one of the reasons a clinical hypnotherapist may spend 45 minutes during and induction in an office visit, but you as a stage hypnotist may spend just 3 or 4 minutes to achieve the same hypnotic experience

Activity: Take out a piece of paper and begin to craft your own deepening phrases using the senses of sight, hearing, smell/taste, and touch. Write down 3 examples for each sense. Save these in a journal or in a file on your computer. Practice each example on your next hypnosis subject.

Hypnosis Deepener #3 Working with The Sense of Tase or Smell

Working with the sense of smell or taste to deepen the hypnotic condition

You can employ either the senses of smell and taste to the hypnotic condition. Think about when you go to a movie theatre. The first smell you sense is popcorn. As you smell and taste the popcorn you begin to develop deep concentration on the movie. You are entering a state of hypnosis.

The following is an example of how you employ the sense of smell during a hypnotic induction with the purpose to deepen the experience.

“You are going deeper and deeper asleep.” “Imagine in you mind, you are in a garden surrounded by the thousands of flowers.” “In a moment you will begin to smell your favorite flowers.” “With your eyes closed, you can smell your favorite flowers.” “As you smell your favorite flowers, you are going deeper and deeper into hypnosis.”

Summary: Use the either the sense of taste or smell to deepen your hypnotic condtion in your stage or hypnotherapy subjects. It is easy and fun to use

Hypnosis Deepener #2 Working with the Sense of Hearing

Hypnosis Deepener #2 Working with the Sense of Hearing

How do you use the sense of hearing as a deepener?

Here is an example of how to appeal to the sense of hearing during a hypnotic induction to deepen the hypnotic experience.

You will instruct your subject, “You are now sitting upright in your chair.” “You are focusing on the sound of my voice.” “As you hear my voice, your body relaxes.” “Just the sound of my voice is assisting you in relaxing very, very deeply”

“The only sound you hear is the sound of my voice.” “As you hear the sound of my voice you are going deeper and deeper into hypnosis.” “You are going deeper and deeper asleep.”

Example #2

If you are hypnotizing people on stage you will have people laughing and shouting in the audience. You can use that noise to deepen your hypnotic induction

You will say to your volunteers on stage, "In a moment you will hear the audience laughing and having a good time, as you hear the audience in the background you will be able to go deeper and deeper into hypnosis." "As you focus on the sound of my voice and pull it out of all of the noises you hear, you will go deeper and deeper asleep."

Summary:

Affect your volunteers' sense of hearing. You can use the sense of hearing to deepen the hypnotic condition.

Using Hypnosis Deepener #1 Affecting Vision

Here is a quick deepener to get your subject deeper into the hypnotic condition.

You begin by telling your subjects to stare at an imaginary spot on the wall or ceiling. Once your subject is staring at the object, it is natural for him/her to begin to feel tired eyes.

You tell your subject, "Your eyelids begin to get tired and your eyes begin to smart by staring at the imaginary spot too long." "In order to relieve that stress, you need to close your eyes down tightly." "As you close your eyelids down tightly, you are going deeper and deeper into hypnosis."

The fact that you are announcing to your subject that eyes are feeling heavy and tired, help build the confidence of your subject that you are a competent hypnotist. Since you are telling your subject the truth now, he/she will be more receptive once you present your hypnotic events or phenomena.

Every time you meet the expectation of your subject or client, you are proceeding to deeper states of hypnotic awareness.

This is the first in the series of several quick deepeners to assist you in achieving success with all of your hypnosis subjects.
